Upstate Soul are here! One of the most dynamic and effortlessly talented function and wedding bands in the Seventh Second family, they bring a distinctive and oh-so-memorable twist to the wedding and function band scene.
Comprising seasoned professional musicians at the forefront of Cardiff's buzzing music scene, Upstate Souls' extensive and popular repertoire effortlessly blends timeless dancefloor favourites with the kind of hidden gems from all eras that you'd forgotten just how much you love to dance to.
Regardless of age group, type of event or musical tastes, Upstate Soul customize their setlist and live show experience to accommodate you, ensuring that continuous good feeling flow of good times!
Approaching each wedding or event with enthusiasm, confidence, and a real commitment to professionalism, this function and wedding band for hire guarantee to make your occasion one for the memory books. Since their 2016 inception, Upstate Soul have performed at weddings, festivals, parties and events across the UK, with clients as diverse as IKEA, The Territorial Army, Za Za Bazaar, and the Cardiff Half Marathon.
Like all our live bands for hire, Upstate Soul provides high-quality instruments, a top-notch PA system, and great stage lighting to take your event to the next level. They happily welcome requests, including first dances, customizing their sets to suit you and your guests. They also go the extra mile by offering complimentary background DJ music before, after and in between their live sets, additional musicians including lead female vocalist or saxophone and a compact three-piece lineup so any venue size or budget can be accommodated easily. Upstate Soul can also offer intimate lounge-styled acoustic sets during any part of your wedding day or event meaning the music never has to stop and will always fit perfectly into the atmosphere you wish to create.
All prices displayed are for the popular 4-piece option and include up-to-date PLI and PAT certificates and a booking deposit. Feel free to inquire about any pricing or booking options this talented live band offers and please note that, due to availability or unforeseen circumstances such as illness, deputy musicians of exceptionally high professional standards may occasionally be used.

Requirements
The band generally will require a minimum of 3x4 metres of space to make sure they can set up safely. Please ask for rider details.
Gear
Along with their instruments (they do help), the band will provide top spec, full PA and lighting systems to cater for any event. Comprehensive PAT and PLI certification is supplied as standard.
Arrival and Set Up
The band can be flexible to suit your requirements, however, usually, set up time is roughly an hour. This time can vary depending on the complexity of the show.
Performance Duration
The band will typically play 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 minute sets, however, the band are flexible so please do ask if you have something more specific in mind. Extra sets or an early start/late finish available. Please contact us for more information.
Sound Limiter
Boo! However, we understand this is commonplace so all our acts have experience with venue sound limiters. If you’ve been instructed by your venue with anything specific, please be sure to let us know before hand.

Some of our acts can provide bonus Bandeoke sets or complete Bandeoke packages suiting any occasion. Sets can vary from 20 minutes to 3 hours and most bands will provide a large list of your favourite hits to pick from.
