Give a warm welcome to our brilliant live acoustic duo for hire Cadence!
It’s time for another showcase and this time I have one of our most lovely acoustic duos Cadence in for a chat. This uber-talented acoustic duo or trio perform stunning intimate and vibrant acoustic music for all tastes and ages meaning they are perfect for pretty much any event you can think of!
“The best part of being a musician is being part of someone’s special day and helping to make it the best it possibly can be.”
Who are Cadence?
Cadence are a dynamic and bubbly duo made up of Ryan and Jas. Together they perform songs from all genres and eras in their own unique acoustic style. Years of performing around the UK and the world together have made them an unstoppable musical force and they bring that energy and tight-knit professionalism to every show they perform at. I think it’s time we found out all about them, don’t you?
Welcome Ryan and Jas!
I got to chat with Ryan and Jas, the founders of Cadence to find out what life as a professional musician entails plus so much more…
1. Tell us a bit about your background and Cadence
We are both full-time musicians who love more intimate acoustic gigs. We used to work in other bands together and found we had loads in common so thought we would form this neat little duo!
2. What’s a typical working day for you?
We go through lots of details with the clients to make sure everything is going to run smoothly. Performances are usually for weddings and corporate parties where we hope to provide some nice ambience for the guests.
3. What do you love about performing in Cadence?
We have chosen some great songs and we feel we have a fun and natural chemistry that helps us perform at our best.
4. Why did you choose to become musicians?
Music has always been a big part of our lives growing up. We couldn’t see anything else that we would rather do as it is something that comes so naturally to us both.
5. What are the best and worst aspects of being a full-time musician?
The best parts are being part of someone’s special day and helping to make it the best it possibly can be. The worst part might be the long drive home on a Saturday night 🙂
6. I feel your pain! Haha. What’s been your all-time favourite show?
It is so hard to choose and there have been so many that it is hard to remember. We once played in a beautiful chateau in France looking over the whole of Nice, which was really lovely.
7. What’s been your most embarrassing moment during a show?
Nothing for us really. Hopefully, we will never have an answer to this!
8. Me too! What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever witnessed at one of your shows?
A band turned up to play for the wrong wedding. Thank goodness it wasn’t us! Haha.
9. What’s your favourite song to perform?
We really like Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.
10. Which song is a guaranteed dance floor filler?
Ain’t No Mountain High Enough seems to be a big favourite. haha!
11. What are Cadence’s future plans?
We would like to keep doing what we are doing for now. 2020 has been a tough year so we are keen to get back to playing.
12. If you could do anything, what would you do if you weren’t a musician?
Author and astronaut – I’ll leave it to you to guess who is what 🙂
13. What’s your favourite food?
Thai and Sushi.
14. What’s your ultimate holiday destination?
Mauritius and Italy.
15. What’s your ideal way to spend a day off?
Ryan- I actually love to play my guitar when I get free time and play some new songs to catch up on things I want to learn.
Jas – I love to meet up with my friends and go outdoors to somewhere I have never been.
16. If you had the chance to go to any music festival ever, which one would it be?
Ryan – I am a big country fan so anyone in Nashville would be great!
Jas – I have never been to the proms, not quite a festival I guess but always wanted to go and never made it even though it is only around the corner!
17. What’s your top tip for couples planning their wedding?
Try to enjoy your day as much as you can. It will go so fast so don’t forget to savour some of the special moments during the day. Maybe after the photos, spend a little time with your partner alone too.
18. Are you a cat or dog people?
Dogs all the way 🙂
